Family Trip to George's Island
What a great day we had!! Today was our annual summer trip to George's Island. My family's been doing this for years and with Jay being outta work for a few weeks it was nice to have him come with us! This year it was me, Jay, Kassie, my mom (also known as Ranger Dee), Auntie Audrey, Jaccie, Carla, Walter, Jacque, Anthony and Nicholas- what a crew!!! Unfortunately, Auntie Nene couldn't make it this year =(

So Ranger Dee was on the first boat (shocker!) but was by herself cuz the boat was sold out...the rest of us got on the next one. We set up camp at our usual spot and got ourselves organized. Weather wise, it was a perfect day- hot, but not too hot and there was an incredible breeze. Mom, Kass and the boys took off for awhile and when they got back Kass was napping. That gave me and Jay a chance to walk around and see a few things like the old prison and hospital and a bunker type place where the people saw all the ships coming in and out of the island. It really is a cool place, especially if you like history...
Well Kassie nap didn't last very long because Nick was practically attacked by a seagull for Anthony's sandwich that was left on the table!! So he's screaming (can you say dramatic?!) and we're all laughing so she woke up...full of piss and vinegar and ready to run around!! Can I just tell you, how insane the birds were this year? There's a ton of geese and seagulls on the island and they were nuts!! They swooped in and grabbed sandwiches off the tables, off the blankets- they even tried to grab the box of Teddy Grahams off the table and managed to poke a beak mark in the box! Crazy birds...
Ranger Dee took the boys and Jay for a little tour of the island and when they got back Jaccie, Carla, Walter, Jacque and the kids got on the next boat back to Boston while the rest of us just chilled. Audrey couldn't find her ticket to get back on the boat and thought they weren't gonna let her on- like she swam over or something!! We piled on the boat for the ride home totally exhausted!! Kassie absolutely loved it and had so much fun and so did we! It really was a great day...
